How you can help
My dad didn't have a life insurance policy and lived on a monthly social security check. He didn't get rental or food assistance. So his monthly funds were limited. I have 2 children and also very limited funds myself. I helped with what I could in the food department, but couldn't do much more. He passed away unexpectedly and I wasn't prepared to have to have $ for cremation. My church is going to do a small service for him. So that part is taken care of. My biggest worry is that I don't get the funds in time to have him moved from the hospital to a funeral home. I was told they hold his body for 10 days and at that point if we can't afford to move him they will cremate him and send him to a paupers cemetery. My child and I were very close to him and I just can't let that happen. His cause of death was a stroke. Please help us. We'd be forever grateful!

We are planning a service at our church Bethany Christian after we get his ashes back. Which at this point we don't know when that'll be. We're originally from Virginia Beach VA and he would like some of his ashes scattered there and the rest will be in an urn next to his dogs urn on my mantel. Also plan to get the ash bracelets for his grandchildren. Will update later when I have more information. So far the cheapest funeral home creation cost has been $1500. So I'm still calling other homes for different prices. Thank you
