Daniel's obituary
Daniel Stenglein Sr, 66, of South Gate, CA, passed away on July 20, 2022 due to Cardiac Arrest.
Daniel was born on January 6, 1956 to Harold and Roselene Stenglein. After graduating from South Gate High School in 1974, Daniel landed his first job at the golf course and later became the Golf Pro at Rio Hondo. In 1976, he met the love of his life, Colleen along with her daughter, Gina. In 1977, Dan and Colleen started Hot Stuff Catering and continued the business for over 20 years. They were the first to have a red Catering Truck and ran a first-in-class business. In 1981, the two of them wed, going on to have 3 children, Steffany, Cindy, and Danny Jr.
Daniel was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to his than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of Gina, Steffany, Cindy, Danny and Colleen and always tried his best to support them.
Daniel was also passionate at meeting new people and loved doing so while driving the taxi in his later years, playing golf, watching sports and any games at the casino. Anyone who knew Daniel knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Daniel was predeceased by his Mother, Roselene (Pat), Father (Harold), Brother (Bill), Daughter (Gina), Grandaughter (Jessica), Father-in-law (Walt), Mother-in-law (Lorraine) and the many others that have passed away before him. He is survived by his Wife (Colleen), Children (Steffany/David, Cindy, Danny/Rebecca), Grandchildren (Johnie, Kayla), Great-grandchildren (Logan), his in-laws (Craig, Mike/Julie, Tim/Debbie, Vin/Binnie, Linda) and the many others whom he loved and cherished .
The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to either the house 45009 Promise Road, Lake Elsinore, CA 92532 or St Mary’s by the Sea for the funeral. There will be a funeral service at 11:00am at St Mary’s by the Sea in Huntington Beach (321 10th St, Huntington Beach, CA 92648) on Friday, August 19th. Followed by a Celebration of Life from 12:00pm-3:00pm at BLK (300 PCH Suit 202, Huntington Beach, CA 92648 - upstairs).
He loved and cherished all the memories with everyone and would often talk about the good times he’s had over the years. Thank you all for loving and caring for him and our family.
