Daniel "Dan" Smith, 89, of Kenton, Ohio, passed away on September 11, 2023, in Kenton. He was born on January 24, 1934, in Kenton, Ohio. Dan was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather, always wearing a smile that could brighten anyone's day. With his silly jokes, he had a unique ability to make people laugh.

Dan proudly served his country in the United States Army and United States Coast Guard, embodying the spirit of a true patriot. His commitment to his nation was unwavering, and he carried out his duties with honor and dedication.

In addition to his military service, Dan dedicated 30 years of his life to working at Ford, leaving a lasting impact on the company. His hard work and dedication were evident throughout his career.

Dan is survived by his late wife, Jay Smith, and their three children, Aaron, Daren, and Karen. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Kristen, Taylor, and Amber.

A ceremony to honor Dan's life will take place on September 13, 2023, with an exclusive 21-gun salute. Due to the nature of the service, attendance is limited to immediate family only.
