Speech — Nagisa Scheidegger
Dan and I met in San Francisco through a dance class called Bay Area Flash Mob in 2012. We’ve been together for 11 years, married for 9 years. I’m 44, so, a quarter of my life has been spent with Dan, and those were the best 11 years one could ask for. Although 11 years seem like a short time, we have made so many wonderful memories that it’s hard to believe it was only 11 years. Dan and I both loved traveling, so we visited many places in the U.S. and Japan, and we also traveled to 17 countries together.
We enjoyed going to concerts, festivals, theaters, museums, dance parties, hikes, game nights with friends, trying many restaurants, and many other fun experiences. We were also very happy to spend time together at home relaxing and watching TV.
Even during the pandemic, I never once felt anxious or lonely because Dan always gave me a sense of security that I would be safe with him. Dan was kind, dependable, smart, fair, and the best husband and best friend.
I feel like I lost... Read more half of my heart after losing my soulmate, but I don’t feel so bad when I think that Dan took that half with him.
“Grief is the price we pay for love.” It’s a nice quote and now it really makes sense why I am paying such a high price.
Although it is very painful, if that’s the price I pay for love, I’ll cherish this pain and live with it, always feeling him in my heart.
Darling, you will always be loved, always be missed, and forever be remembered. Read lessDan and I met in San Francisco through a dance class called Bay Area Flash Mob in 2012.
