Daniel's obituary
Daniel Rodriguez, age 34, passed away on January 5, 2026, in Jacksonville, Florida.
Daniel proudly served his country as a Gunner’s Mate in the United States Navy. Over the course of his military career, he completed seven deployments and was a plank owner of the USS Lewis B. Puller and the USS Minneapolis–Saint Paul. A disabled veteran, Daniel carried his service with quiet strength, resilience, and an unwavering sense of duty.
Daniel held a deep love and loyalty for his shipmates, whom he considered family. The bonds he formed through service were sacred to him—built on trust, sacrifice, and shared experiences that never faded. He stood by those he served with just as fiercely as he stood for his own family.
Above all else, Daniel was a devoted father. He was the loving father of his daughter, Gia, and forever held in his heart his stillborn son, Carter. His greatest pride was protecting and providing for his family, a role he embraced fully and fiercely.
Daniel was a loving husband to his wife, Abigail, and a steadfast protector to those he cared about. Known for his loyalty, strength, and presence, he was someone others could depend on. His simple pleasures were whiskey, a good cigar, white sandy beaches, and a perfectly cooked steak—moments that brought him peace and joy.
Daniel will be remembered for his service, his devotion to his family and shipmates, and the depth of his character. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the love he gave so freely
A service honoring Daniel’s military service will be announced at a later date.
Fair winds and following seas.
