It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Danny Morales, of Escondido, California, on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at the age of 64.

Danny was born in Escondido, California, on December 10, 1960, to parents Anna Morales and Rupert Morales, both of whom descend from the San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians.

Danny faced unique challenges from birth, but his warmth, humor, and resilience touched everyone who knew him. He brought endless joy to those around him with his silly antics, love of motorcycles, signature hat, and infectious belly laugh. Defying the expectations set by medical professionals, Danny lived a full and vibrant life, largely supported by the Home of Guiding Hands. Anyone who had the privilege of meeting Danny knows that to know Danny is to love Danny.

Danny passed away peacefully in the morning at Scripps Grossmont Hospital after facing complications from respiratory failure.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank Mendez, Helen Mendez, Gene Morales, and Vera Morales, as well as his father, Rupert Morales.

Danny will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Anna Morales; brother, Michael Morales; and niece, Jennifer Morales. He will also be dearly missed by his many friends at the Home of Guiding Hands.

A funeral service will be held at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary on Friday, February 14, at 12:30 PM, followed by a procession to Oak Hill Memorial Cemetery in Escondido.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Scripps Grossmont Hospital for their compassionate care during Danny’s final days.

Danny’s spirit, laughter, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
