Daniel's obituary

Daniel "Danny Boy Elvis" Malaza, 74, of Vacaville, CA, passed away on October 25, 2022 after battling catastrophic and debilitating illnesses. He passed due to myocardial infarction.

Daniel was born on September 8, 1948 to Primitivo & Eusefa Malaza in Rizal, Philippines. He came to the United States from the Philippines in 1969 and resided in San Francisco, California where he attended Balboa High School. He became the top swimmer in his class and was invited to the States National Championship, taking home 2nd place out of 50 other competitors. After graduating from Balboa High School, he went on to study Musical Therapy at Solano Jr. College. Then joined the Navy serving 5 years and became a Private First Class. He loved serving his country and most of all sharing his stories with his family about all the battleships he spent his time on during the end of the Vietnam War. Daniel was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of Darnalynn, his only girl out of four kids. Growing up he would take all of his children, nephews, and nieces on adventures; Reno for the snow, amusement parks, the waterfront, or anywhere in general. We always had fun until he made us sing on top of the world just so he can send videos back home to the Philippines number one hit song "We are the world". A respectful soldier and family member he also had a passion for entertainment and singing was his greatest happiness. An Elvis impersonator from the Bay Area, San Diego, and throughout California, you could find him with a mic, his stylish uniforms, and his gold glasses performing in numerous concerts and shows. He won multiple talent shows, and even went to New York taking home the gold in a national television talent search. Dad would always find a way to sing a few songs at any party that we went to, putting a whole act on in a drop of a dime. He was always ready to perform and would put on a show that you could never forget. Anyone who knew Daniel knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Daniel is survived by wife Erlinda Quintanilla, kids Alexander Quintanilla, Jorel Malaza-Quintanilla, Daniel Quintanilla & Darnalynn Quintanilla.
