Celebration of Life for Mr. Daniel L. Robinson
Today we celebrate the life of our beloved Daniel Lee Robinson, 76, who went home to be with the Lord on February 14, 2023, in Perry, Florida. Daniel was born February 13, 1947, in Evansville, Indiana to Albert Robinson Sr. and Ruthie Bell Henderson.
Daniel aka Sergeant Rob honorably served our country in the United States Army for 30 years. Just to mention some of his tours he went twice to Germany, Iran, Hawaii, Panama, Korea, Anchorage, Alaska, Haiti, Honduras, Turkey, Kuwait Iraq, Canada, France and many more countries. Not to mention Army bases in the USA but no matter where he went, he never met a stranger. Daniel was a loving and caring man.
In Daniel’s spare time you could always find him dancing and singing especially to Al Green, the Temptations, The O’Jays and Teddy Pendergrass. He enjoyed music, playing cards, dice, watching movies and football. Daniel also enjoyed keeping his yard groomed and his cars shining. His personality and sense of humor is what gave him laughter as well as to those around him.
Moreover, he was a wonderful brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, and now great-great grandfather. Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife of 10 years, Carol Robinson. He leaves to cherish his memories one daughter, Annette Denise Maner Kelley 58 years old. His granddaughters Tyreece (Gary) Maner 41, Tyslii Maner 37, and one grandson Antonio (Chelsea) Maner 33. Seven great grandsons: Diego (Jez’ Reel) Gill who both are active in the Army; Jamiere, JaCori, and Jaden Dunigan; Chanse, Levi, and Antonio II aka “Deuce”. One great-great grandson, Waylon Gill.
Daniel has six sisters whom he spoke very highly and adored, Margaret Brown, Rose McBride, Beverly Thomas, Ellen Robinson, Terri Robinson, and Kimberly Robinson Curry. Three brothers Matthew Robinson, Ricky Truss (San Antonio, TX), Alton Robinson all of Saginaw, Michigan whom he loves dearly. Many nieces and nephews and one special niece he was very close to Mrs. Tonya Beavers Joe (Athens, TX). He would sit laugh and talk with Tonya all night as she would sit there and listen.
There were others he raised who had the pleasure of calling him Grandpa Daniel, Mercedes Gipson of (Tupelo, MS), Antoinette Jeter (Warner Robins, GA), and Juwan Drain (Conroe, Texas). His bonus children Carla Lynn Sykes (East St. Louis, Illinois) Carolynn Jeter (Warner Robins, GA), Lornnia Chase (Humble, TX), Rainbow and Ray Bruker (Spring Meadows, Pennsylvania), Doreen Powell, Candice Shields, Angelique Knowells (all of Illinois); Along with bonus grandchildren who called him Pappy.
Daniel was full of joy and touched so many lives he will be greatly missed! Too many friends all over the world to name. He was a people person from all walks of life.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Albert Robinson Sr.; His mother Mrs. Ruthie Bell Williams; one sister Frankie Mae Beavers Phillips; two brothers Albert Robinson Jr. and Larry Truss aka “Candy”.
