Daniel's obituary
Born December 16, 1956, Norman native Daniel Lee Imhoff (Danny) passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on the 17th of May, 2024.
Danny’s career in trucking began in Norman alongside his cousin where he found a passion for driving semi trucks. In 1994, Danny made his way to Alaska where he began working for Carlile Transportation delivering loads all over the state including the North slope and the ice road. Due to this Danny received a Million Mile Hall of Fame Driver Award. Later on in his career he was transferred to Texas where he continued to work for Carlile. Danny finished out his trucking days working as a special project driver for Texas Transeastern until his retirement.
Growing up in rural Oklahoma, Danny enjoyed hunting and fishing alongside his father and brother. He would often hang out with his dad in the machine shed learning the ins and outs of car mechanics. He had an avid interest in VW Beetles and left a few buried at the homestead. He was a prankster to his sisters, who often returned the favor.
Danny was a simple man. He was devoted to his wife, and above all he loved his children dearly. His daughters, sons and grandchildren were a great joy to his life and provided him with immeasurable strength and support.
Danny was an enthusiastic fan of OU football and women’s softball. He found a love for coaching softball and did so for several years with the Deer Park Softball Girls Association League. Danny loved kids and was a people pleaser.
Condolences sent to the family described Danny as a good soul and a hard working man with great work ethics. His colleagues enjoyed working alongside him and have fond memories of him.
