I still remember when DJ was born. Such a beautiful baby. As he grew up, he always had a big smile on his face for us when we would visit almost every Saturday at his Grandma Hattie's house (my aunt). DJ, tell your mom and all the family in Heaven hello for me. God Bless you Cousin.

A week ago Saturday, I lost one of the greatest men I have ever known, my best friend, and my soul mate.

He could make me smile with no effort at all, and I always knew how to bring him out of any bad days he might have had. We knew each other through and through.

We both agreed that we had made mistakes and I know that I failed him as a wife. I should have given him more time to come back from his accident, I should have not pushed away when he needed me. I regret the decisions I made back then and tried to make things right every since.

We remained close, becoming one another’s best friend. He would rescue me time and time again when ever he would get a call from me begging for his help. I always knew I could count on him as he could count on me no matter how big or small or time of day.

Speaking with friends close to him, they all said the same thing - that he loved me just as much now as he did back then. And the same stands for me. He was my life, my knight in shining armor, my greatest alli, who I will always love through and through. I could never have a bad thing to say about him, he truly was a man of honor, of his word, and there weren’t many people who didn’t care tremendously about him.

I will always love you, DJ. You were and continue to be my husband, my best friend, and my life. Your my knight and shining armor and now your my angel... kiss the babies for me. Until we see each other again one day...
