Daniel's obituary

 Daniel Eugene Fisher, Sr., 62, of Vandemere, NC was called into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Carolina East Medical Center. He was born on February 4, 1963, in Vandemere, North Carolina, and spent his life rooted in the community that shaped him.

 

Daniel was educated in the Pamlico County Schools and carried with him the values of hard work and dedication throughout his life. Known for his love of fishing, cooking out, and spending cherished time with his grandchildren and family. Daniel found joy in simple pleasures and meaningful connections.

 

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Wanda Fisher; his son, Daniel Eugene Fisher, Jr. (Kimilia); two children of the heart, Melanie Hawkins (James) and Bryant Hawkins (Larissa). His legacy continues through his three grandchildren who brought immense pride and happiness to his life.

 

Daniel is also survived by his father, Willie Fisher, Sr.; siblings Willie Fisher Jr., Veronica Hollowell (Michael), Shelley Midgette (Darryl) and Thelma Northern, who was just like a sister to him. He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones whose lives were touched by his presence.

 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Fisher.

 

Daniel’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held on August 8, 2025, at 12:00 PM at St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church. 639 Pennsylvania Avenue, Vandemere North Carolina. He will be laid to rest at the Fisher family cemetery in Vandemere, NC.
