While I was literally a country away in Canada, Dan raised my daughter, Jessica, and from the moment I met him he treated me like a son. No words can express my gratitude to this man for the lifetime of kindness he shared with me. . Dan had a way of making things "come to life" in your mind when he told stories. You found yourself asking could the snow really be that deep in Minnesota? Could it be that cold?

Simply put, Dan had a way of sensing a need or a void in you and filling it somehow for you. You felt better, more hopeful. He helped me find my way in life. I am sure others feel the same

He was everyone's grandpa.
