Daniel Thomas “Dan” Cuccherini, age 62, of Elkwood, VA passed away November 2, 2022 at Inova Fairfax Hospital after a fierce 10 year battle with cancer. Born November 15, 1959 in Gouldsboro, Pennsylvania to Thomas John and Stathie Constance Cuccherini. As a deputy for the Fairfax County Sheriff's department Dan served in various capacities having participated on both the SWAT and SERT teams. During his time of service he also became a trained blackbelt in Jiu Jitsu. After 25 faithful years, he retired from law enforcement. Following his career there, he became the Director of Safety for William A. Hazel, a prominent site development company in Northern Virginia.

Dan was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed shooting, fishing, hunting, and spending time in nature. Dan adored sports, some of his best years were spent taking an active role coaching and teaching little league softball in Culpeper, Virginia.

Surviving relatives include his wife of 40 years, JGene G. Cuccherini of Elkwood, VA, his children - Angela, Danielle, Nicholas, Anthony, Caitlin, Vincent, Jewelia, Rosalee, and Robert. He was a beloved “Grampy” to Ava, Eli, Annette, Ivan, Zoe, Caleb, Logan, Oliver, Grace, Twila, Copeland, and August. He is also survived by his mother, Stathie, sister Robin, brothers - Tom, Mike, and Jim.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Cuccherini.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at Clore-English Funeral Home with Pastor Ernest Custalow officiating. The family will receive friends after services until 9:00 p.m.

Family and friends are also invited to an informal gathering to celebrate and remember Dan’s life on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 2 pm at the Malvern of Madison Clubhouse, address 905 Malvern Dr. Madison, Va 22727.
