Shekha - my prayers are with you, Arrington and Dan's entire family.  May his soul rest in eternal peace.  I pray that you may be able to ground your grief in gratitude for every precious moment and memory spent with Dan, and that God will show grace, comfort and provision in the days ahead.  In moments of chaos and moments of solitude - may you always feel God's presence and know that you are not alone.

Dan was a good dude!  Out of the blue he called me just a few weeks before he passed.  As we spoke I was reminded of how he spent his life serving and working to make life better for other people.  We crossed paths working to end murder and violence in DC.  We stayed connected through Community of Hope AME, and later through simple brotherhood in the movement.  While we didn't speak often, when we did it was a deeply thoughtful connection.  Dan was an inspiration to me.  He will be missed and his legacy of service and genuine humanity cherished.
