2025, St. Petersburg, FL, USA

Daniel was one of those larger than life people.  As I got to know him better over the years I learned:

He was a talented engineer that could get hired on the spot at most competitive companies,

He picked up ballroom dancing and quickly became a teacher,

He was on his way to semi pro boxing,

He very quickly mastered the art of whipping a flaming bull whip,

And many other talents I'm sure I dont know of.

I do smile when I think of him and hope this brings a smile to your face too.

Dear Linda and family, I hope you and your family are finding peace in Jesus while dealing with the grief and loss you daily live with. Daniel was a family man and longed to be with you for his strength.
I just saw this horrible news today when looking for Daniel on professional sites. I worked with him side by side on some software and electrical engineering projects for Octane Fitness back in 2019 or so. I used to car pool with him and we had very, very long (2.5 hours each day) conversations including about work, but mostly about his faith and consideration of Jesus Christ. He had a lot to say about some of his family's faith. I prayed for him all the time (he gave me permission and was very thankful). He spoke so highly of his family and parents and wife. I got to hear lots of adventures about travel and stories that made me say "wow." He led an adventurous life and was a very intelligent guy. I don't know what happened to him, so I am just trying to encourage family if you read this. He was always a fun person to be with, and our philosophical and theological conversations made me look forward to our brutal (my van had no a/c) summer commutes! Peace of Christ to all of you. I am sorry for your loss.

We are so extremely sorry for your loss and we are praying for you all <3
I had not seen the notice until just now - I am so sorry to learn of your loss.  While I did not know your son, I trust that he was very special to you and that you will be able to care for your grandson with help from your friends.  Pat McDonald
Matt Collette had written something to be read at the service for Dan as he could not make it back to Minnesota. We were unable to read this but wanted to post this for Dan pre Matt's know words and support.

"Dan was a beautifully complex person, so while it's hard choosing what trait to mention, passion was always at his core. Whether it be his enthusiasm for a new hobby, education, or his professional life, they all pale in comparison to his unwavering devotion to family. Dan's love for his sisters carried the type of earnest compassion and commitment that most families can only dream of, his constant and genuine interest in not only their day- to-day lives but also their long term success is what all siblings should aim to achieve"
In response to "What act of kindness did you witness from Daniel?"

Thank you to all who have shown up for our family during this impossible time... we had more individuals at the funeral than we ever expected, the sight still holds me up on days when it's hard to stand. At this time, when I'm in NYC - knowing how much of a strong, loving community is continuing to show up for my parents has meant more than you all could realize.

Endless thanks - holding onto every hug I received last week and at the memorial, all the texts and phone calls, emails, cards -

love from my heart to yours,

Sarah

Our family is amazed at the kind words, prayers, support and love from everyone.  During this time of loss people have shown love and support beyond our imagination.  Thank you for posting photos, memories and offering donations for Grey.  We are sad but your love and support help so so so much.

My heart hurts for your immeasurable loss!  The grief feels big because your love was for Dan was so big!!  Be gentle with yourselves as you navigate the next days, weeks and months.  Praying God shows you his tender mercy in so many unexpected ways to ease the deep pain a bit.

I met Dan while working at Caribou Coffee, and he and his family quickly became dear friends. I will always remember Dan's laugh and his love for people. He would go out of his way to make a genuine connection with everyone who came in the door, and sometimes would get so bummed out when people were in a hurry and didn't reciprocate. I loved all our walks, the time he made me try to run 3 miles, blasting music with his sisters and friends in a dark room, eating sushi and Ethiopian food, and so many heartfelt talks. You made a big difference here Dan, and I'm so glad I got to know you!
I remember when I used to cut Dan’s hair, a wonderful head of hair. He would always have a smile on his handsome face & we had some nice chats. I am so very sorry.  Your beautiful family will continue to be in my prayers ❤️
I’ll always remember the day Dan came to spend the day with us when we lived in MN. He was about to become a father and the excitement he had about that was so sweet. I was so taken by how intelligent and humble he was at the same time.  He was so genuine and really listened when someone was talking. I am so sorry Jim, Linda, Angela and Sarah for your loss. I know the pain of losing a brother. We have been and  will continue to pray for your comfort and consolation in the days to come. -Kristin LaFlamme
