Dan passed away peacefully on August 15, 2019 in their family home. He was born October 20, 1967 in St. Louis Park, MN. He was a graduate of Minnehaha Academy in 1986. He received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Computer Science at Rasmussen in 2013.

Dan worked in IT Management at St. Francis Hospital in Shakopee, MN for seven years and Allina Health for 18 years.

Dan loved spending time in nature, from fishing and camping, to hiking through Scottish highlands and climbing mountains in other countries. He lived with a genuine desire to love everyone well and walk in real relationship with Jesus. His greatest joy was laughing and spending time with his family.

He married Nathalie Doss Benson, July 25, 1997 and was joyfully married 22 years. Left to honor Dan and carry on his legacy are his wife, Nathalie Benson, and three children, Elijah, Briana and Caitlyn Benson. Dan was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy and uncle David Myhre. He is survived by his father, James Benson, and sister, Kathleen Williams with his brother in law Mark Williams.

Dan will be remembered as a man who welcomed everyone, passionate evangelist, dancer and man of integrity to friends and family. A life celebration service will be held August 22 at 1pm at The House Church at 2024 Rahn Way, Eagan, MN 55122 and streamed live on The House Facebook page. Donations received will be used to help family through this transition in life. Flower memorials should be planted flowers instead of cut flowers and will be made into a memorial garden at home.
