Dana's obituary
Dena Beta Nissan-Al-Kiab passed away on April 24, 2026, a warrior whose life burned with motion, courage, and an unshakable will to stand against darkness wherever it appeared.
He was a true man of the Trinity, one who did not merely speak of battle against darkness but lived it. In the long aftermath of nights spent on gravel roads and the bruising rhythm of knockout hanger basketball games, he would still rise as the one others turned to. Even when the world was heavy and unsteady, he carried a presence that steadied those around him.
After nights at a Mikey Needelman Band concert, when others faded, Dena remained the spark that brought life back into the circle. He had the rare strength of someone who could endure exhaustion and still become the center of hope for his people.
Though there are many fish in those ponds, he was always the one remembered first. A wanderer by nature, he moved between Williamsburg, Kansas; Notre Dame, Indiana; and Kansas City, yet none of these ever fully contained him. His true home was always Gentz, where his spirit seemed to rest between journeys.
Born a son of Jacob Oberrieder, Dena carried the weight of legacy and friendship like armor. He is preceded in death by Sushi, Tony, and Ryan Lytton, companions in a story now carried forward in memory alone.
He is gone too soon, but not forgotten. His life reads like the tale of a warrior who never laid down his watch, who fought not for glory but for the people who stood beside him in the dark.
