This left us speech less and very sad , no words are even enough at times like this but to Dora, the girls and the family we thank God for the light that shined brightly in Dan's life, he will always be remembered and we know he has gone to he with the Lord(1 Thes 4:13-14) who gave him to us for a time and has taken him back to glory where there tears ,death, mourning or pain  (Rev 21:4),  and he shall comfort and ease the pain to you and all of us in this time of loss (2 Cor 1:3-4)

You are in our prayers

Ai Mukama, Ekisa kyo tegitegeerekeka! Thanks you Dan for sharing your  life and love with us. Your steadfast faith in the Lord infected us and we felt the presence of the Lord in your midst. Your boundless generosity is an example of a life well lived and free. Your contribution to our country will live beyond you for years to come.

May the Lord comfort Dora, the girls, your siblings, friends and relatives for you touched us ever so deeply and we will cherish the memories forever.

DR. SEMAMBO

You preached Christ to us on our first meeting, you gave us opportunities for our carreers, you mentored us, you challenged us even when things looked impossible, you sacrificed the little you had with us, you opened doors for many, you pushed us even when situtions were dire, you encouraged us not to give up, you protected us, you counselled us, you have been like a parent and you did all this with unwavering integrity, principles, "crazy" passion and courage. Your exemplary attributes have each grown us wherever we are. May God reward the many "seeds and breeds" pun intended..which you planted amongst us and in the livestock sector which you cherished so deeply, May it all be multiplied and may the professional legacy you leave behind live on and never be taken for granted..may the SACRIFICES you made some of which the world will never know be rewarded back to your family.

DR. SURELY I KNOW your Soul Rests and will continue to rest in Eternal Peace!!

I am saddened by the demise of Dr. Daniel Semambo. I first met Dr. Dan in the 1990's at the then Nile Hotel  during the youth conference organised by the first lady Janet Museveni. Dr. Dan encouraged us to abstain from sex before marriage as he himself had done. I looked up to him and admired him alot.

My last interaction  with him was a few years ago in Nairobi during the Animal Genetics workshop organised by the Inter African Bureau for Animal Resources.  He was a very friendly man, ever smiling and joking.

I send my condolences to the widow whom he loved alot and his dear children. May his soul rest in eternal peace

I was shocked and filled with regret when I heard the news of Dan's passing. Having met in November 2021 at Gayaza High School Farm Camp, I learned many things from his wealth of knowledge and experience. He extended an open invitation for me to meet him, sadly he's gone before this became a reality.

My deepest condolences to his beloved family and friends. He has indeed fought a good fight!

I wish to express my heartfelt condolences to Dora ,the children and the entire Semambo family ,on the loss of Dan.

May the Lord comfort you during this difficult time.

Dan  thank you for loving Dora and the gals.  Dance with the angels as you sing hallelujah which you used to  love so much. Greetings from us all to them.  We miss you. Comfort to all your gals. May your soul rest in peace.

We celebrate a life well lived with purpose of God's kingdom building we appreciate uncle semambo Dan for this may he rest in glory mama Dora God cares and will carry you through this with the girls

Dora and the girls, it was very sad to hear of the passing of Dan. He was such a friendly, kind person!!! So knowledgeable and willing to share this wealth of knowledge with anyone and everyone. Dan would not pass you by without at the very least, a quick “hello”.

His love ❤️  for Dora and the girls was beyond description. His love for Christ was an example to emulate - worship Christ with whatever you have!

That rich voice that he used to praise God and comfort others will not be forgotten.

Rest well Dan, surely the angels are happy to receive you and we shall meet in glory🙏🏾

The Lord gives and takes. Your encouragement to sing and praise God, your walk with Christ Jesus was a great testimony as I grew up knowing Christ Jesus. Praying for aunt Dora and my sisters. ITS WELL.

Dr Dan Semambo was a dear family friend.  I remember, that i was unable to attend his wedding because that is the same day I was blessed with my son Simon so they share that special day -17 May 1997.  Among the many things I remember and cherish about Dan was his christian ministry, singing and concern for our walk with the Lord - although constrained with time he always found a moment to drop by Entebbe Grade A Hospital Dental clinic where I was working to ask me 'Owoluganda okyalokoka' and then he would greet, laugh and go away happy. We shall miss you brother but God knows why He took you at this time - which according to us is too early. Keep singing with the angels in heaven- 'It is well with my soul'.  We pray for Dora and the girls as they go through this trying time.  Rest in peace brother.

Celebrating Dan comes easily because Dan lived such a full and rich life. The bible says that a spacious life flourishes.  That was Dan's life.

I was Dan and Dora's chauffeur at their wedding.  A lot of people had issues with it. "How can a woman  be the Chauffeur for the bagole?", they asked and protested.  Dan and Dora stood their ground and let me drive. What a ride that was. We laughed so hard and they enjoyed my play list. It was a safe ride I must say.

We were in Ministry with  Dan in the Joint Heirs. He had an amazing voice and the discipline and strictness of a seasoned musician.  Sometimes at practice some of our younger selves would like to goof off a bit, he would have none of that. To let him relax a bit we would use his other rarely used name, Nelson. I can still hear Dan singing, 'NOELI' ,  ' THE LORD IS MY LIGHT PSALM 27' .' OMUSAAYI','WE ARE JOINT HEIRS'

Dan took his faith seriously and always asked you when you met, "okyalokoka owoluganda?" ( Are you still walking  with the Lord and keeping the the faith?)   Dan is one of those Christians who never struggled with sharing his faith. If you were in his presence and you were not saved you would be sure to hear the gospel before your time together was up.

My last memory of Dan was a visit i  their home on my travels . The Semambos lived in Entebbe and so on some of my travels I would stop over, spend the night and proceed to Kampala the next day. My last vist was beautiful fellowship and I also got to connect with my god-daughter Nasejje. That would be our last time together.

I last connected with Dan in November 2021.  He sent me a message asking when we should organise another mission to Malawi. We did one in 2002 and we had an amazing time. He sent me a family music video and challenged me to identify my God daughter Nasejje, since she had grown up and I had not seen her for a while. That would be our final connection.

Farewell Dan , you fought a good fight. You run a straight race.  Now you can await your crown. Sad that I cannot be there to say Farewell.  Till we meet in glory.

Dora, thinking of you and your precious daughters and my Goddaughter,  Nasejje. May God hold you and hug you tight in this difficult season. Let us remember Dan as we knew him best. May the memories we made together and the lessons we learned from him, keep Dan forever alive in our hearts.  Blessings,

  Dr. Stella Kasirye. 🇲🇼 Malawi

Rest in Peace, Dan. 'Saved Semambo' is how you always introduced yourself to me. Sleep well.  The storm is over
