RIP Dr. Semambo. Thank you for mentoring the young and old. Thank you for serving God's ministry through music. Your angelic voice rings out whenever I think of you!
May the angels and saints receive you with songs of praise.
We were with him in the same hall at Makerere University; Nkrumah Hall. I had previously studied with his brother Herbert Kasedde in boarding primary. Dan was friendly, he offered to sing for us a song at our wedding and he did: the Luganda hymn 'Ekisakyo tekitegerekeka'. This was in December 1994. One time we were in the same commuter taxi and he paid my fare although I could have paid for myself. Although he belonged to a different fellowship, the Church of Uganda Kitende fellowship,we were good friends. I knew his daughter Nanjobe who did law at our Christian University. On my undergraduate graduation day in 1987, my father introduced my mother to the late Prof. Rukare who was his father-in-law as they new each other from school; I had not known they were Old Boys. He also worked with UCU Holdings. I therefore knew him an outgoing, engaging, loving person who insisted on what he believed to be right. Sometimes he seemed to insist too much, we shall miss him.
