It is with sadness that we announce the death of Dan Gero Grove, 80, of Sturgis, who passed away Wednesday, May 21st, 2025, at Maple Lawn nursing home in Coldwater, MI. Dan spent the majority of his life in Bronson and Sturgis, MI. 

A man of full of laughter and trick's, Dan's life was marked by his comedic personality. He had a gift for making people laugh, a sense of humor, and an easy chuckle. Even in the face of adversity, Dan approached life with humor. He will be remembered for making goofy faces and making light of many situations. He loved telling stories and talking with people, both familiar faces and strangers. 

Throughout his life, Dan had many different interests. He farmed, he raced horses, he enjoyed going to the livestock auctions at the Shipshewana Auction Barn, he worked at Oaklawn in Goshen, IN, and various factories. He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their various sports. Dan was known for giving everybody in the family nicknames including his many nieces and nephews. 

Dan leaves behind his three children, Kristina Owens (Jim) of Bronson, MI, Jennifer Bowron (Mark) of Charlotte, NC, and James Grove (Christine) of Edwardsburg, MI, and four grandchildren; Chantz Owens, Sydney Owens, Ethan Grove, and Aidan Grove.

Surviving are his sisters, Kathy Yoder, Marilyn Grove, and Julie Grove. 

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Mary Grove, his brother Dewitt Grove, and his grandson, Evan Grove. 

 Cremation has taken place, and no formal services will be held. The family invites you to share  memories of him on the tribute wall below his obituary.
