Dan's obituary
Daniel "Danny" W. Frank, 81, of Tempe, Arizona, passed away on December 13, 2023 in Queen Creek, Arizona surrounded by his family. He was born on May 27, 1942 in Tempe, Arizona to Rose and Fred Frank.
Danny was a tough, caring, and loving individual who had a generous and giving heart. He had a great sense of humor and was known as a jokester, always making those around him laugh with his silly jokes. He was kind and deeply loved his family and friends. Danny was always there to lend a helping hand within his community, taking care of those who needed assistance.
He is survived by his daughter Julie Kennison her husband Greg Kennison, along with his granddaughters Justine “Oyster” Kennison, Mariann “Chiquita” Kennison, and Britney Kennison, and grandsons Jacob “Babush” Kennison and Justin Laurent, Sisters Lily Moraga, Pearl Kaufax, and Helen Franco. Danny was preceded in death by his beloved wife Ann Frank, mother Rose Frank, father Fred Frank, sister Gloria Leon and brothers-in-law Victor Leon, Robert Franco, Ernest Moraga, and Irv Kaufax.
Danny attended Tempe High School and later pursued a career as a steelworker. He dedicated his time and energy to his profession, working diligently to support his loved ones. He was also very involved in his community during his retirement volunteering for the local Tardeada, campaigning for mayor Hugh Hallman, and participating in the Tempe Council meetings.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel was the place of worship for Danny, where he found solace and peace. He cherished his faith deeply, finding comfort in his religious community.
In his younger years, Danny worked tirelessly in earning his title as a Featherweight Boxing Champion coached by Benny Hinds sponsored by Monti’s La Casa Vieja which was a huge accomplishment of his, in addition he also enjoyed Skydiving with his cronies within the Rebel Skydivers club along with the Latin Skydivers club and made life long friends that stood by him throughout the years. He enjoyed restoring his classic cars and participating in car shows not to mention his most prized possession a black 1958 Chevy Impala. These hobbies brought him excitement and fulfillment throughout his life, allowing him to challenge himself and embrace life's adventures while touching the lives of those around him.
The viewing to honor Danny's life will be held on December 29th from 4pm to 8pm with a Roseary at 6 pm at Tempe Mortaury. Funeral/Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel will be held on December 30th at 10 am, procession to St. Francis cemetery following the mass for the burial at 11:30 am.
Danny will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of kindness, humor, and generosity will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. May he rest in eternal peace.
