Dan's obituary
Dan Blane made his transition to his final rest on July 9, 2024.
He was born in 1924 in Taylor, Tx and enjoyed a full life till the very end in Savannah, GA. Above all, Dan’s life was defined by sharing joy in Christ.
Dan exhibited a thirst for knowledge and modeled the wonder of knowing. He eagerly studied philosophy, English, linguistics, math and computer science. A lifelong learner, he earned recent certifications in computing and perpetually acquired new skills and perspectives to make his professional career more effective towards the end of WW2. Suffice to say, his nose was frequently in a book - on just about any subject.
Dan loved music and poetry. His ubiquitous sense of humor bordered on zany (but after all, isn’t sanity just a one-trick pony anyway?) He was never satisfied with "that's the way it's always been done”. With his indomitable positive attitude, sheer muck power, and unwavering patience, he handled the hard stuff well.
He is survived by his children (Ruby Jones) and (Daniel Blane). And a large host of grandchildren, family and friends.
You will be surely missed. We celebrate your life and love of family.
