Damon's obituary
Damon Joseph McGrier, was born to Myra McGrier and the late Joseph McGrier on August 2, 1974 in Buffalo, New York. He was one of four children. He departed his life after a brief illness.
He was educated in the Buffalo Public School and a graduate from Bennett High School in Buffalo, NY. He was a memeber of the Tigers, Bennett’s football team, and became affectionately know as “Meatball”. In earlier years, he played with the JFK Little League.
He was a journeyman plumber with Local #21 and travelled out of state for years. He was also employed with the Cold Springs Cab Company and Buffalo Transportation until he became ill in 2018.
Damon also known as “DJ” to his family and friends loved his family. He was the tool who kept our family together. He loved playing and watching football. His favorite team was, of course the Buffalo Bills. He loved and professed Christ at an early age.
We will miss our son, father, brother, and friend. Damon was preceded in death by his father Joseph McGrier and brother Jerry McGrier Sr.
Damon leaves to cherish and celebrate his life, his beloved mother, Myra McGrier; grandmother Corine Harper; two brothers: Darren McGrier, and Terrence Whitaker; one sister, Avis Whitaker-Snead; two sons: Damon Jr., and Damion McGrier; Two daughters Emoney and Shymia; a Favorite uncle, George Long Jr.; Special friends: Talika Stone, Carlos Chapman, Demire Edward’s, and Shannon Cross; and a host of other family and friends.
