Def D, you were always with us on events, can't forget all of the fish fries and other occasions. I will always remember you talking to me about rap music and all the things that you had done. I was very glad I had a chance to give you some of Freddie Fresh's CD's to blast just like in the club.

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to do this, but this has been one of the hardest things I've ever had to come to terms with.

Damon King started as my fiercest rap rival as teenagers and ended up one of my best, lifelong friends. We laughed, argued, and challenged each other constantly, and in some ways were the perfect yin and yang, but my dude was a kindred mind. I can still here him right now in my mind yelling "Johnny Harkon!!" every time we saw each other.

Def was charismatic, scary intelligent, and one of the funniest dudes that ever walked the planet. But the thing I admired most about him was he LIVED his life. Authentic, full tilt, and unapologetically. He was that rarest of things in life: a true friend. I'm glad the last time we talked I got to tell him I loved him.

My heartfelt condolences to all of his family. Though he may no longer be physically with us, one thing I know is; we will all have "Def D stories" to reminisce and laugh at forever. Pimp on Joey Bananas. See you on the other side brotha. - Harkon Ajala

Moma King! Our deeps & heart felt prayers & love go out to you & your family. We are all shocked & extremely saddened by the lost of our great comrade & brother.
