Dalene's obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dalene Rood. Born on September 14, 1963, Dalene embraced life with love and dedication until her ultimate journey on May 16, 2025.
Dalene leaves behind an abundant family who will continue to honor her legacy and remember her fondly. She is survived by her mother, Charlene Sexton, father, E. Thomas Dawson, and step-mother, Dinah Dawson. Her presence will be sorely missed by her siblings, sister Charlotte (Allen) Beadles, sister Harriet (Dean) Wende and brother Thomas (Mehgan) Dawson.
Especially dear to Dalene were her children, son Keith (Carmen) Rood and daughter Jodi (Arthur) C De Baca, whose lives were richly influenced by her nurturing spirit. Dalene's joy was multiplied in her grandchildren, Hayden and Clinton Rood, and Arthur and Indi C De Baca, who were the recipients of her unwavering love and endless support.
A Celebration of life for Dalene will be held on May 25, 2025 at 9:00 AM at The Links Neighborhood Grill, where friends and family are welcome to gather, remember and pay tribute to Dalene's beautiful life.
In her own way, Dalene was a beacon of love and kindness. As a loving daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, she believed in the strength of familial bonds. The love she had for her family was profound and was a value she continually imparted to her loved ones.
Dalene was a proud alumnus of Moon Valley High School, graduating in the class of 1981. Until her passing, she flourished in her career with the Washington School District, impacting many lives along the way. Her legacy of love, commitment to family, and dedication to her work will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Dalene Rood, a profound symbol of love and family, will be deeply missed. Her life has touched many, and her spirit will continue to be a guiding light for her family and friends.
