Dale's obituary
Dale Reyné Williams was born June 18, 1956, to Dorothy Mae and Daniel Gilbert Boatner II in Detroit, Michigan. She was the third of four children: Daniel III, Derryle, and Debra.
Dale was educated in Detroit, Michigan, and graduated from Pershing High School in 1974, where she was voted Most Popular Girl. She also attended and graduated from Wayne State University, receiving her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in 1987. After graduation, she was employed by AT&T, where she worked faithfully as a manager for over 30 years.
Dale was health-conscious and went to the gym as often as possible, sometimes twice daily. She occasionally brought her nieces and nephews to encourage them to see the fun of working out. She loved gardening, sewing, and organizing family get-togethers. She was known to be very kind and compassionate. She liked doing things her way, even with her cooking. She baked with her own recipes, and if she didn’t have an ingredient, she made it happen with quirky substitutes. Her oatmeal cookies and peach cobbler are famous in her children’s circles. She was ingenious at finding solutions to problems using tools in her magical “Mary Poppins” purse, which was known to carry breakfast sandwiches, sewing kits, Twizzlers, peppermint, and popcorn. She treated her nieces, nephews, and her children’s friends like her own and was fiercely protective of them.
From 1980 until she passed, Dale was a member of The Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research (IDMR), a nondenominational religious and scientific organization. There, she gained a spiritual family as well.
Dale passed away on March 16, 2024, due to complications from Multiple Sclerosis. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Lewis; her children Raheem, Takaya (Howard), Montaz II, Yahra, and Reuel; her siblings Daniel Boatner III (Anita), Derryle Boatner (Debra), and Debra Richards (Chris); her step-brother Gerald Mason; granddaughter Lelah and grandson Sudi; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and colleagues.
