Dale's obituary
Dale John Larson “Preacher”, (84) of Duluth, MN
November 18, 1941 - May 10, 2024
Dale was born on November 18, 1941, to Margaret and John Larson in Duluth, MN.
He attended Denfield High School and went on to serve in the Air Force from 1960-1964. He then worked for Duluth Avionics, and finally for the Duluth ISD 709 school district in the technology department until retirement.
He married Virginia Olsen (twice!) and they had two children. Dale Jr. and Darla.
He was a proud member of the Thunderbirds MC alongside his son DJ. He was known as “Preacher” because one day he randomly decided to become a minister. After that he performed many marriages. Rumor has it that he would only charge a bottle of rum for his services. He regularly performed in a band on the weekends and at other various events. He used to play lead guitar, but lost a finger in an unfortunate car accident. After that he tattooed a fingernail on the stub where his finger used to be and started playing the bass ( I imagine that with one less finger, he chose an instrument with one less string). He was patient, kind, generous, intelligent, and witty. He will be greatly missed.
Dale is survived by his wife Virginia. His children; DJ, and Darla. His grandchildren; Steffanie, Nichole, Eric, Athena, and Julius. His great grandchildren; Victoria, Calista, Raelyn, and Harmony.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert.
There will be a celebration of life June 22, 2024 at 5 pm at the Other Place Bar and Grill in Duluth.
