Background
David loved serving others but he was especially passionate about his service on the Cresson Volunteer Fire Department. He received multiple lifesaving awards and earned the rank of lieutenant, captain and even interim chief. While he hated the recognition, he loved those men like brothers. They were his family and had a bond that could not be broken. The kids and I used to joke with him about how he’d run out the door day or night when that tone went off but the truth was he took it very seriously. He always said he did it because if it was his family that needed help, or his home that was on fire, he would hope someone would do the same for him. Day and night these courageous men and women serve our community and put their lives on the line as volunteers. I owe them a huge dept of gratitude and I hope you will join me in honoring the department that David loved so dearly.
