It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dadmohammad Bigzad, age 83, a beloved father, husband, and grandfather whose life was a testament to love, kindness, and resilience. His departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Dadmohammad was born in the picturesque Panjshir Valley of Afghanistan, a place known for its breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage. Growing up, he developed a deep appreciation for the beauty of gemstones, spending his early years working with them—crafting, trading, and discovering the stories embedded in each stone.

As Afghanistan faced turmoil, Dadmohammad made the courageous decision to leave everything he knew behind and seek a new life in the United States. The journey was not easy; it was filled with uncertainty and challenges, but his heart was set on creating a brighter future.

Arriving in the U.S., he faced a world that was both thrilling and intimidating. With his knowledge of gemstones and an unyielding spirit, he began to build a life. He forged connections in his new community, sharing his passion for his craft and the stories of his homeland.

He cherished family gatherings, sharing meals that blended Afghan traditions with American flavors. He taught us about our heritage, ensuring we knew the beauty of our roots while embracing the opportunities of our new home.

Dadmohammad's warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone he met. Known for his ever-present smile and gentle demeanor, he had an extraordinary ability to make others feel cherished and valued. His laughter could light up even the darkest days, and his wise, comforting words often provided solace during life’s challenges. He was not just a father and grandfather; he was a mentor, a confidant, and a true friend to many.

He is survived by his wife Bibi Shaw Bigzad and loving daughters, Bibi Amri Latifi and Zareen Khader, who carry forward his values of compassion and generosity. His legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren: Zaheem Faizi, Arezo Faizi, Qais Faizi, Heela Latifi, Abdul Khader, Javeria Khader, Saman Latifi, Setara Latifi, Sonya Khader, and Wahab Latifi. Each of them holds treasured memories of their grandfather, from the stories he shared to the warm hugs that made them feel safe and loved. He took great pride in celebrating their achievements, no matter how small, and was always their biggest cheerleader.

Throughout his life, Dadmohammad embodied the spirit of community and togetherness. He believed that family extended beyond blood relations, welcoming friends and neighbors into his home with open arms. His gatherings were legendary—filled with laughter, shared stories, and the aroma of delicious meals he loved to prepare.
