Cynthia's obituary
Cynthia Danielle Price, 45, of Eugene OR, passed away on November 1st, 2024, following a brief bought with a cancerous brain tumor.
Cynthia was born on September 4, 1979 to Sheryl Butcher and John Price in Branson Missouri. After Cynthia graduated from Lincoln high school in 1997, she went on to study Medical Office Management at Andon College.
After graduating as valedictorian, she worked in medical administration in Beaverton, Oregon.
In 2002, Cynthia had her first bout with a brain tumor, resulting in her disability and retirement from the workforce.
Cynthia spent her time as a volunteer with several organizations, including:
Council President for ShelterCare of Lane County, Oregon (providing compassionate housing and behavioral health services for individuals and families wanting a safe and stable home in our community).
She was also a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and worked with local animal shelters fostering kittens.
Cynthia loved classical music and played violin, viola and guitar. She also was an active member of the Eugene Friends Church in Eugene, Oregon, where she sang in the choir at every service she attended.
Cynthia is survived by her mother Sheryl Butcher (spouse David Bilan), her sister Julianne Matus (Spouse Andy), niece Graciela Matus and nephew Benjamin Matus; her father, John Price (spouse Elizabeth), her sisters Aeryn Price and Alexandra Price; step siblings Zachariah Glenn, Alexa Hawthorn, and James Bilan.
A Celebration of Life service for Cynthia will be held at the Gresham Family Worship Center on Saturday, November 16th at 1 pm
A memorial service for Cynthia is planned for the Eugene Friends Church in Eugene, Oregon on Saturday, December 28th.
All of Cynthia’s friends and family are invited to attend either or both events.
