Cynthia LeAnn Priest Corbin (Cyndi) left her earth-bound body on March 5th,2025, surrounded by the loving energy of family and friends. She was born on March 30, 1961, in Belleville, Illinois, to Nadine (Copeland) and Leon Priest. Cyndi was preceded in death by her grandparents Myrtle Lee (O’Shea) and Oscar Copeland, Lorena (Parrish) and Howard Priest, and sister Melinda (Mindi) Priest Willcut.

She is survived by both her parents; children, Rebekah (Shawn) Bertholf of Louisville, KY; Corbin Ellis Hannah of Terre Haute, Indiana; and Nathanael “Nate” Ryne Corbin of Radcliff, KY; Grandchildren: Jamey, James, and Hunter Hatchell of Louisville, KY and Great grandchildren: Noah, Lilith, Atreus and Samuel.

Cyndi was a life-long learner and wise educator. She is remembered by her family and friends as compassionate, loving, intuitive, and considerate. Whether you knew her as Mom, Nana, daughter, sister, friend, therapist, or social worker, Cyndi’s courage, loyalty, and determination made her an unforgettable presence.

After exploring positions as a Fire Department Dispatcher, Teacher’s Assistant, School Bus Driver, and Home Party Sales, in 1995, Cyndi began following her passion for easing the suffering of others as a social worker. She earned her MSW through the University of Louisville in 1997 while simultaneously working and parenting her three children.

As a licensed clinical social worker, Cyndi found joy and purpose in serving people in her community. She worked for Seven County Services for many years and in several capacities, worked third shift at the Crisis and Information Line, and assessed individuals at Emergency Psych Services. She especially enjoyed her work as a therapist with OEF and OIF Veterans through the VA. Cyndi presented many wellness programs at the Rainbow Spiritual Education Center and Community Supported Acupuncture, where she served as a board member. She particularly enjoyed learning and teaching newer techniques such as Tapping (EFT), Laughter Yoga, and Havening. At the end of her career, Cyndi used her years of experience, continuing education, and love for social work as a supervisor and mentor to social workers working toward their clinical licensure. Cyndi gave her all to offer a listening ear, wisdom, and tools that enhance people’s lives. Untold clients, students, and friends have been changed forever by Cyndi’s unconditional acceptance, expertise, kindness, and giving heart.

Cyndi expressed her creativity not only through her social work practice but also through various arts and crafts. She spent much of her last year sewing legacy projects for her loved ones. She also enjoyed time in nature, loved camping, and was drawn to the ocean, where she connected with sea turtles and whales.
