Cindy's obituary
Cynthia Ann Holman, affectionately known by many as Cindy, closed the final chapter of her vibrant 71 years on January 18, 2024, in Pleasant Valley, MO. Born on October 29, 1952, in Kansas City, MO Cindy’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven of joy, spunk, and an abundance of love.
Cindy’s educational journey led her to pursue her first passion of cosmetology in her early adult life. Later, she found a new passion of working with children and spent 20 years nurturing the lives of children, in various roles, with the Independence School District. Retiring in May of 2016.
Cindy’s hobbies were as colorful as her well-tended garden, which she cultivated with as much care as her relationships with others. Her family pool was more than just a splash of fun; it was her oasis of memories. Cindy’s world revolved around her twins. If she wasn’t cheering them on in their childhood sports, she was affectionately gaining the love of all their childhood friends. She was the voice of reason and epitome of motherly warmth.
She loved her grandchildren with a love that knew no finish line and often referred to them as her continued strength in her final years of life.
The family tree that she leaves behind is rooted in love with her sister, Deborah Messier, and brother, Matthew Carlson, standing strong. The branches extend to her daughter, Cammie Colby, her niece, Melissa Holstrom, and nephews, Cody and Lake Carlson. Her grandson, Leyton Holman, and granddaughter, Annistyn Nichols, are budding blossoms of her legacy.
Cindy’s journey to the heavens was proceeded by her father, Leonard Carlson, her mother, Wanda Carlson, her brother Michael Carlson, and her son Garrett Holman.
Cindy’s selflessness, fun-loving nature, and love for others will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind cherished memories and a lasting impact on the lives she touched.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
