Cindy's obituary
Cynthia (Cindy) Anne Haywood, 67, of Hubbard Manor West, Dearborn, MI, passed away on July 12, 2024, after a long battle with a lung disease.
Cindy was born on January 14, 1957, in Dearborn, MI, to Arthur and Rona Haywood. She cherished her childhood with her siblings Jim, Chris, and Patty, finding solace in the words of the Velveteen Rabbit: "Real isn't how you are made, it's a thing that happens to you."
Cindy was known for her love of owls and classic movies. She adored makeup, fashion, and getting her nails done. She took great pride in her independence and accomplishments as a single woman.
Cindy had a deep love for her nieces, nephews, and their children. She was a devoted aunt and caregiver, spending cherished moments babysitting and nurturing them as if they were her own. Cindy created lasting memories with them, especially during long drives to Canada, where they bonded over their shared love of music.
Throughout her life, Cindy welcomed several ‘furbabies’ into her home, most recently her beloved cats Riley and Buddy.
Cindy's generosity extended beyond her lifetime as she donated her kidneys, saving two lives.
Cindy is survived by, her siblings Jim (Laura) Haywood and Chris Haywood (Leo Wonch), her brother-in-law Anthony Juszczyk, nieces and nephews Rona Juszczyk (Kenny Schlenker), Kelli (Sean) Shunkwiler, Robyn Haywood, Megan King (Patrick Green), Mark Haywood, Link King, Trevor (Desiree) King, and great nieces and nephews Aubree King, Colson King, Cayden King, and Isla Shunkwiler.
She also leaves behind dear friends including Mary Vartanian-Dougekos, her Fordson Class of '75 classmates, and the residents of Hubbard Manor West.
Cindy is reunited in heaven with her parents Arthur and Rona Haywood and her sister Patty Juszczyk.
A celebration of Cindy's life will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 12 noon at Plav Post 16, 25222 W Warren St, Dearborn Heights, MI 48127. The service, officiated by Pastor Bob England of the Westland Free Methodist Church, will be followed by a luncheon. Cindy's remains will be cremated.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Henry Ford Hospital, Gift of Life, and all those who offered their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated.
Cindy lived by the motto, "Dance like nobody is watching; love like you've never been hurt. Sing like nobody's listening; live like it's heaven on earth." She maintained a positive outlook, finding peace in trusting God and knowing she was safe in His hands.
