After graduating from high school, Cynthia entered the workforce, beginning her career at K&B on Canal Street with determination and a strong work ethic. Shortly thereafter, she joyfully welcomed her firstborn son, Ronald “Herc” Miller, a milestone that marked the start of her journey as a loving and devoted mother. Several years later, she welcomed her second son, D’Artanian “Duck” Miller, adding to the joy and fulfillment of her life. In 1991, Cynthia met her life partner, Joseph Thibodeaux, and they quickly became inseparable. Their years together were filled with love, companionship, and shared experiences that shaped their lives in lasting ways.
One of Cynthia’s greatest accomplishments, aside from being a mother, was her successful career as a nurse. At the age of 40, Cynthia made a bold and life-changing decision to pursue a career in nursing. With a deep passion for helping others, she returned to school at Sidney Collier Technical College to become a licensed practical nurse, and through hard work and dedication, she continued to advance in her profession as a student at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. She became a registered nurse and went on to hold the esteemed position of Director of Nursing within the West Jefferson Hospital System as well as several nursing homes throughout New Orleans where she led with compassion and expertise.
