Cindy was my best childhood friend for years, when we lived in the same neighborhood in Emporia, Kansas.  When her family moved, we lost touch, but I was grateful to be able to reconnect with her in recent years, both online, and in person, on a couple of visits I made from New York to Kansas.  It was wonderful to know that she had such a lovely and generous group of friends and family— I may not know most of you, but we share our appreciation for Cindy, and what a lovely person she was.  She will live on in our memories.
