Cynthia's obituary
Cynthia “Cindy” Ann Mayo Creamer (1949-2024) passed away unexpectedly on November 8, 2024 in Panama City, FL.
Born on February 2, 1949 in Repton, AL, Cindy was an exuberant and vivacious child. She spent her childhood in Richland, GA, and her fondest memories were of times at their family’s vacation home in Grayton Beach, FL. Cindy graduated from Stewart County High School in 1967. She then attended Emory University in Atlanta, GA where she obtained her degree as a radiologic technologist. Over the years, Cindy obtained additional clinical certifications in X-ray, mammography and ultrasound. She had an accomplished career working at Gulf Coast Medical Center, Tyndall Air Force Base Hospital, Calhoun Liberty Hospital, Weems Memorial Hospital, and most recently, Gulf Imaging in Panama City since 2006. She was a hardworking and compassionate clinician and always kept her coworkers entertained with her quick whit and southern colloquialisms.
Cindy met her husband, Donald “Donnie” Creamer in 1978 and they laid down roots in Lynn Haven, FL, where they raised their two children, Garrison and Lauren. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother, spending countless hours at the baseball field, soccer field, boxing ring, culinary classes and on school field trips. Cindy wore many hats and had many titles throughout her life, but the one that brought her the most pride and happiness was ‘Grandma.’ Her grandsons were her greatest joy in life and she truly cherished every moment she spent with them.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Earl A. Mayo and Joyce E. Mayo, and brother-in-laws William Sears and Ronald Miller.
She is survived by Donnie Creamer, her siblings, Lady Sears, Lawrence Mayo (Terrie), Barbara Mayo and Deborah Miller, her children Garrison Creamer and Lauren Creamer (Jacob Tomaszycki), daughter-in-law Leta Daniels, her grandsons Olas and Aylam Creamer, and future grandson Lukas Tomaszycki, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephew.
A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held at Heritage Funeral Home located at 247 North Tyndall Parkway in Panama City, FL, on Saturday, November 16, with visitation from 2 to 3 pm and funeral services from 3 to 4 pm.
In lieu of flowers and food, the family kindly requests donations be made to a tuition fund set up for her grandsons. Cindy always contributed to their education which was of upmost importance to her.
