Cindy's obituary

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Cynthia "Cindy" Castillo, who left us peacefully on April 17, 2025. Born on July 19, 1967, Cindy was a beacon of love, kindness, and resilience.

Cindy is survived by her loving daughter, Jennifer Castillo, her beloved son, Louis Castillo, her cherished daughter-in-law, Deanna Moffett, and the caring son-in-law, Jarquise Burleson. She leaves behind a rich legacy in the form of her grandsons Jarquise Burleson Jr., Victory Burleson, and her granddaughters Jernee Burleson, Annabelle Castillo, and Maryjane Castillo. Cindy is predeceased by her spouse, Louis Castillo, and her Father-in-law, Manuel Castillo.

Married to Louis Castillo in 1986, Cindy cherished the bond of their love that lasted for 23 years. Her generous heart, empathetic nature, and unwavering loyalty were the traits that everyone adored. The smiles she brought to the lives of those around her will be profoundly missed.

A lover of Mexican food, Starbucks frappuccinos, and an ardent fan of books centered around romance, Cindy was a woman of diverse preferences. She appreciated the melodies of Metallica, ACDC, and Guns n' Roses, and was also an avid watcher of the TV show, Roseanne. An undying fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Longhorns, Cindy was a sports enthusiast to the core.

Spending time with her children and grandchildren was one of her favorite pastimes. Her love for Surfside Beach made it her go-to vacation spot, while downtown Austin was a preferred local haunt. Cindy had a penchant for the color ruby red, which she believed depicted her vibrant personality and zest for life.

Her loved ones best remember Cindy as a woman who never failed to see the best in others, even when they wronged her. She was a prayer warrior who firmly believed in letting God handle everything. Her greatest accomplishment, she often stated, was her children and her family, the center of her universe.

As we mourn her loss, we pledge to honor her legacy of love, loyalty, and unyielding faith. We are grateful for the lessons she shared and the memories that will continue to inspire us. Her words of reassurance echo in our hearts, reminding us that "everything is going to be ok". Cindy, we love you, and not a single day goes by without us thinking of you. Rest in peace, dear soul.
