Somewhere Over the Rainbow: A Celebration of Cynthia Banks Life

On May 23, 2026, we are gathering in San Jose to follow the yellow brick road back to the wonderful memories of our beloved Cynthia aka Mom aka Nana aka Sissy aka Cindy Love...

My mom always believed that "there’s no place like home," and to her, home was wherever her friends and family were gathered. To honor her vibrant spirit and the joy she brought into our lives, we are hosting a Wizard of Oz-themed Celebration of Life in her honor.

My mom loved throwing or going to a party. So this isn't a day for formal mourning, but a time to be together have a good time, have a glass of your favorite drink and eat some good food. We want to honor her wishes as well hear the stories that made her so special. We would love to hear about the "magic" she brought to your world.

The Look: Oz Attire Rainbows, blue gingham, and plenty of "ruby" red and emerald green. We invite you to wear your favorite bright color or all of them. Be creative.
