Curtis's obituary
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Curtis Smith, a caring, considerate, and loving soul, who left us too soon on February 14, 2023. Born on February 6, 1970, Curtis grew into a man who embodied kindness and the spirit of giving. Even during times of personal challenge, he maintained an unstoppable zest for life.
Curtis was predeceased by his beloved grandparents, George and Bea Morehouse, and Edna Smith, as well as his Aunt Donna Hansen, Uncle Denny Morehouse, and his cherished cousins, DeWayne and Dana Eckhoff. He leaves behind a heartbroken circle of loved ones: his mother, Judi Morehouse; his step-father, Greg Woodard; his Aunt Betty Hilley and Uncle Doug Hilley; and his cousin, Greg Hansen.
In the early years of his life, Curtis began to shape the passions and hobbies that would define him. He embarked on his educational journey on May 8, 1975, when he entered elementary school. As he matured, his interests broadened and his love for life deepened. He took great pleasure in cooking and enjoying his favorite meal - BBQ. A true fan of Dr Pepper, Curtis often paired his beloved beverage with his culinary creations. In his leisure time, he adored watching the TV series, 'Supernatural', playing his favorite game, D&D, and appreciating the breathtaking art, such as Giovanni di Paolo's 'The Beheading of Saint John the Baptist'.
Despite his varied interests, there was nothing Curtis loved more than being in the company of his dear friends. Curtis was a man who enjoyed life to the fullest, whether it was watching performances by Weird Al, vacationing in Orlando, Florida, or just spending time with the people he loved.
Curtis was many things; a beacon of joy, even during challenging times. In his wise and caring nature, he believed in being the best version of oneself each day. His legacy will be one of smiles, kindness, and a selfless spirit. His mother fondly remembers him as "the best son ever."
In honor of Curtis's memory, donations are being gratefully accepted for the PTSD Foundation of America. Contributions can be made at https://everloved.com/life-of….
Curtis Smith was a man truly loved. His passing leaves a void that can never be filled. However, his spirit lives on in the lessons he taught, and the lives he touched, through his love and generosity.
