Curtis's obituary

Curtis Lee Jackson was born on May 21, 1955, in Blytheville, AR, the son of Lucious "Dad" Jackson and Cora Lee Gunby Jackson.

He was one of 11 children.

He married Sherrie Ferguson on August 3rd, 2002, in Lansing, MI.

Curtis Jackson was a very kind and generous man who loved the Lord, his family, and friends. He was an avid softball player, fisherman and hunter. He retired after 30+ years at the Board of Water and Light. Curtis also was a basketball Coach at Otto Middle School, and he coached at Living Word Outreach Church for years as a volunteer with the youth football team. Curt loved hosting parties and his family on special occasions. He was a great cook, and he was always ready to take a road trip and do all the driving! He was a HUGE DETROIT LIONS fan, and his hope was to see them in the Super Bowl.

On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, Curtis went home to be with the Lord at 2:22am at the age of 70. He passed away at Lakeland Hospice House in Lakeland, FL.

He leaves to celebrate his memory, his wife Sherrie Jackson; his children Curtis (Arianna) Jackson Jr. of Lansing, MI, Breeona Williams of Lakeland, FL, James Jackson of Houston, TX, Christina (Clyde) Davis of Lansing, MI, Corrina Jackson of Houston, TX, Elisa Jackson of Arizona, Kasee Ferguson of Los Angeles, CA, Kelvin Roberson Jr., Detroit, MI, Branden Rittmon, Bronx, NY.

Siblings: Catherine (Jim) Hatch of Harvey, IL; Doretha Mitchell Jackson of Lansing, MI; Lorenzo (Mary) Jackson of Junction City, KS; Raymond Jackson of Farmington Hills, MI; Shirley Jackson of Columbia, TN; James "Don" Jackson of Lansing, MI; Vivian Jackson of Columbia, TN; Rodney (Pam) Jackson of Lansing, MI; Chris Key of Lansing, MI; Victoria (Willard) Walker of Lansing, MI; Mary Key of Orlando, FL; Jason (Eva) Key of Lansing, MI and a host of grandkids, great grandkids, and family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mom Cora Lee Jackson, dad Lucious Jackson, and brothers Floyd Jackson, and Lucious Jackson, Jr.
