Curtis's obituary
Curtis Johnson, Sr, 79, of New York, NY passed away on September 28, 2022.
Curtis was born on November 26, 1942 to Tommie Johnson and Grace King Johnson in Birmingham, AL. He wed Freddie Ann Blevins in 1963 in Birmingham, AL. Three children, were born to their union, Angela, Curtis, Jr., and Adrianne. Curtis was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved so, he moved his family to Jamaica, NY in June 1964. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of his predeceased daughter, Angela, a Registered Nurse, son and namesake Curtis Johnson, Jr (Renee) a Lieutenant Fireman, and his younger daughter, Adrianne Wood (Dwaine) a Federal Government Agent. Curtis always tried his best to support them.
Curtis was also a music lover, a fisherman, avid baseball fan, and a passionate boxing fan. He could often be found fishing when he wasn’t at home.
Anyone who knew Curtis knew that he was proud of his children and grandchildren and he was a family man. He is survived by son, Curtis Johnson, Jr and daughter, Adrianne Wood, a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be a memorial/celebration of life on Saturday, October 29, 2022 in Griffin, GA.
