I was driving, alone, to Chattanooga to pick up Brother to come spend the holidays with us. When I reached St Louis, I got confused by all the bypasses and roundy BS. I took the wrong 64 and ended up completely lost. Being lost is one of my biggest anxiety triggers, so when I stopped at a gas station in Redbud IL I was "freakin out man!" I called my brother for help getting back on the right road. I remember standing in the gas station hysterical and screaming on the phone "I'm in mother F☆☆☆☆☆' Redbud Illinois Curtis! Get me out of here!" Everyone in the place was staring at me like what is wrong with this crazy lady! Lmao I can laugh about it now, but at the time not so much. Fast forwarding to the return trip...... we were on the interstate somewhere between TN and NE when it felt like we were running something over but there was nothing on the road in front of us. I looked in the mirror and realized we were running something over pieces of my car! Several months prior I had hit a deer with my Honda and messed up the front end. Apparently pieces of the front end were breaking off and that's what we were running over. Brother was like are we even gonna make it to Nebraska? Lol it was a crazy trip to say the least!

Back then cruising Mooney Blvd was not only legal but it was "the thing to do" on Friday and Saturday nights. My brother used to take me with him to cruise Mooney and get girls phone numbers. There was 11 years between us and I was so cute w my blonde ringlet curls and blue eyes. So naturally all the girls thought it was so sweet of him to bring his baby sister out cruising on the weekends and to give them a call some night. Hahaha Smooth as could be.

Many of Curtis's high school friends remember waiting for him to finish the evening routine of brushing out my Barbie's hair after my bath. He never skipped it or claimed he didn't have time. He was very devoted to being the best big brother he could be. And He WAS the BEST BOY BROTHER I COULD HAVE ASKED FOR!
