i have known curtis for about 20 years. We worked together off and on for those years.    Curtis was a great guy, talented artist and all around good person.  I actually just texted him because we haven't talked for a while and i got a sick feeling and googled his name.  That's how i found out about his passing.    I do know that curtis loved his boys and his wife because the last we worked together which was around sept 2024 , he talked a lot about them.  

i was heartbroken when i read that he had past.   He was a great person and I truly believe heaven has a lot of murals now. 

Rest in peace brother.

I live in Newark Ohio where he did so many murals and just heard he passed today . I am so sorry. I work at the library here where he did two murals and I handle local history. I plan on writing a story about the historical markers he did here, in the near future .

One of the most honest courageous artists I have come across in my life as an educator. I ran the MFA Program at DAAP and Curtis embraced critique and had a work ethos that inspired others…

May and Aki,   You are in my prayers.   I was blessed to work with Curtis on Newsies and learned a great deal about painting from him in the time we worked together.  His can-do attitude and his love for Aki touched my heart.   I will help Aki any way I can.  I will be directing the plays and musical at Hastings again this year.
