Curtis's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Curtis Boyd Johnson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and respected pillar of his community. He transitioned peacefully at home in Ewing Township, NJ on April 7, 2026 surrounded by family.

Born on May 17, 1941 in Camden, NJ, Curtis lived a life rich in love, purpose, and wisdom, leaving behind a legacy that will endure for generations.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Eula Johnson; his three daughters, Sherri Johnson-Stevens, Teresa Johnson-Albritton, and Michelle Johnson-Davidson; sons-in-law Patrick Stevens, Mel Albritton and Douglas Davidson; four grandchildren, Davon Johnson, Derek Stevens, Sierra Albritton, and Raymond Davidson and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins he truly loved. His spirit lives on through them, carried forward in the values, love, and guidance he so generously gave.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Adolphus Johnson and Ora Beasley-Johnson, as well as his siblings: Doris Willis, Gloria Porter, Mitchell Johnson, Kenneth Johnson, Francis Johnson, James Johnson, Donald Johnson, John “JC” Johnson, and Winston Johnson. He also mourned the loss of his grandson, Aaron Stevens.

Curtis proudly served his country in the United States Navy and 16 years in the Navy reserve followed by a 30 year career in New Jersey’s Department of Corrections-a reflection of his strength, dedication, and commitment to others—qualities that defined his life both in service and at home. His unwavering spirit and commitment to community service made him a cherished figure among friends and neighbors alike. Curtis’s presence brought warmth, wisdom, joy, and laughter to all who knew him. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will forever remain in our hearts.

A service to honor his life will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940, on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 10:15 AM.
