Crystal's obituary
Crystal Harrell Gordon was born in Chicago, Illinois to Marilyn Harrell and Cornell Robinson. She was the eldest of three daughters from Marilyn, and the fourth of seven children from Cornell.
Crystal was baptized at Israel The Church of Jesus, where she began her lifelong relationship with God.
She attended South Shore High School, where she discovered her passion for music and joined the band. Later in life, she attended Environmental Technical Institute and earned her diploma in HVAC.
Crystal was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She loved her family deeply and taught her children compassion, strength, and faith. She was known for her patience, kindness, generosity, and her ability to face challenges with grace.
On the morning of October 15, 2025, Crystal was called home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her father, Cornell Robinson, and her brothers, Kenyatta and Jason.
Crystal leaves to cherish her memory: her loving mother, Marilyn Harrell; her eight children — Tia (Fred), Marcus, Tasia (Kenneth), Jamia, Aaliyah, Jimmy Jr., Serena (Perrier), and Jeshanah; two bonus children — Jare and Damontay; five sisters — Charlotte, Abigail, Sandra, Annike, and Sherri; eighteen grandchildren, with one on the way; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Crystal will be remembered as a woman of strength, love, and faith.
Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and the many lives she touched.
