Crystal's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Crystal Dickson on February 28, 2024. Crystal was born on July 4, 1976, and enhanced the lives of all who knew her with her caring, kind, headstrong, and determined personality.
Crystal is survived by her loving daughters, Aiyanna M Clarke-Smith, Pamela Dickson, Angel Dickson and Kendra Dickson; her devoted husband, Terry Dickson; her treasured mother, Pamela Laager, and her step-parents, Keith Olive and Beth Olive. Crystal will also be fondly remembered by her sister, Naomi Sterf; brother, Thomas Sterf ll; nephews, Thomas Sterf lll, Bryer Bjerke, Rollins Dickson and Rodrigo Dickson; nieces, Sonya Bjerke, Mina Bjerke, Mallie Dickson, Bonnie Dickson and Emilie Dickson; grand-nephew, Jace Dickson. She had a special place in her heart for her mother-in-law, Beth Dickson; brothers-in-law, Casey Dickson, Chris Dickson, and Andy Dickson; sister-in-law, Yadira; son-in-law, Sterling Clarke and her ex-husband, Robert Smith. Crystal was predeceased by her father-in-law, Archibald "Ken" Dickson, Jr.
Throughout her life, Crystal had many joys. She savored pot roast with mashed potatoes and gravy, chicken fried steak with green beans, corn, and stuffed potatoes, all washed down with her favorite drink, Coke. Music by Daddy Yankee and Sean Paul often resounded through her home. A passionate TV enthusiast, she enjoyed shows like Bones, Criminal Minds, Forensic Files, and NCIS. Big screen favorites included the movie Lost Boys, while Halo was her preferred game.
Crystal had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. Her favorite vacation spot was Ana Maria Island, and she enjoyed spending time at the local Waterhole. Fishing, watching crime shows, walking, and spending time at the beach were activities that brought her immense joy. Her favorite color, lavender purple, was reflective of her gentle spirit.
One of Crystal's most meaningful accomplishments was raising her four headstrong daughters, doing what it took to keep a roof over their heads and food in their stomachs. She strived to give them everything she could. She believed in treating others as you would want to be treated, a life lesson that she instilled in her loved ones.
The legacy she leaves behind is one of kindness and love. She believed in accepting people as they were, not where they came from. To Crystal, family and friends were everything, and her love for them was the cornerstone of her life. She will be missed profoundly.
