Crista Hahn, 75, of Athens, OH transitioned from this life on September 7, 2024, after a battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born March 5, 1949, in Tiffin, OH to William Hahn and Georgia Lou (Rakestraw) Smith, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her step-father Harold Smith, and her sister and brother-in-law Dona and Ronald Shook. She is survived by her sons, Troy (Lesa) Weaver of Canal Winchester and Matt (Aurora) Weaver of Auburn, AL, two granddaughters, Joselyn and Evelyn, who brought her so much joy, and several nieces and nephews.

Crista earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio University and a Master’s degree in Education from Miami University. She taught at Vinton County Local Schools for 30 years, retiring from the high school where she taught science and biology. She had a true love of education and was active in Science Olympiad, continuing to help even after her retirement.

She was an avid birder, a talented gardener, enjoyed traveling, quilting, playing dominoes and attending concerts with friends. She was active in local quilting guilds and AFAN. She will be kindly remembered by her many friends who were by her side, faithfully, until the end.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Burr Oak Lodge in the Chickadee Room (10660 Burr Oak Lodge Rd, Glouster, OH 45732). Family and friends may call between 2pm and 5pm to honor her memory and reminisce.
