Creed's obituary
Creed Rucker, 84, of Fullerton, California, passed away on July 15, 2024.
Creed was born in April 1940 to Dorothy Christy and Rolland Benjamin Rucker in Santa Monica, California. After graduating from the Black Fox Military Academy, he landed his first job in collections for Union Federal and then at CIT Bank in Southern California. Creed met Marylynn Sylvia Field when she had been in California only 3 days from England on a blind date and they married on November 1968 and moved to Cerritos, California. Creed and Marylynn had daughter Christy Rucker and then son Conrad Rucker and moved to Fullerton, California where they have lived ever since. Creed worked at Century 21 and was the top real estate agent in Orange County. Before he retired he worked in collections at Amanda Engineering. Creed has two grandsons - Sean and Kyle Landwehr.
Creed was a force of nature, fun loving, and always the life of a party. The white elephant parties held each Christmas were something to be remembered by all who attended them! There were also numerous wine tasting parties, Academy Award parties, and card game parties at the Rucker's home in Fullerton. Creed was also a passionate collector of license plates, Olympic pins from the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games, frogs, rocks which he turned into jewelry, belt buckles, bolos and more. He also loved to make bird houses and cork license plates and coasters and would sell them at a local store. He played tennis and racquetball and loved going to the beach. Creed was predeceased by his parents Dorothy Christy and Rolland Rucker and is survived by his wife Marylynn Rucker, son Conrad Rucker, daughter Christy Landwehr, son-in-law John Landwehr, and grandsons Sean and Kyle Landwehr.
The family requests that all notes are sent to Marylynn Rucker and any financial gifts to the Alzheimer's Association in his memory at https://act.alz.org/site/TR/E…. There will be a celebration of life for Creed on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 2 - 5 p.m. at the Fullerton family home.
