Craig's obituary
Craig was born on May 14, 1967 to James and Judith Rarick in the city of Cupertino, California. Throughout his childhood and adolescence, he enjoyed playing baseball and developed a love of fast cars and good food. After graduation, he moved to Rhode Island where he attended the New England Institute for Technology and graduated with a degree in Design Engineering. While attending NEIT, Craig developed and secured a patent for the Mountain Board and built a small local company which was featured at the Gravity Games in 2003, which he considered one of his great achievements. Craig was passionate about engineering and built a successful career doing so, eventually moving to Alabama and continuing his career there at Glassforms. Eventually, Craig decided that his love of food and cooking was too much to ignore and left the field to pursue a degree in culinary arts. Craig graduated from Culinard at Virginia College in 2014. Craig then worked his way up the ladder until he reached his final corporate position at Top Golf as the Executive Event Chef. In January of 2020, Craig retired from his corporate culinary career in favor of focusing on his small businesses - Craig’s Cakes and Machete’s Kitchen.
Craig was predeceased by his parents, James and Judith Raick. He is survived by his daughter, Taylor, 27, his grandson, Logan, 5, both of Coventry, RI, and his two beloved pups Turbo and Diesel. He is also survived by his brother Keith, 56, of Alameda, CA. Due to Covid, services were not held, but an informal celebration of life will be planned for the one year anniversary of his passing to allow family and friends to gather in his honor.
