Craig's obituary
Craig John Battinelli passed away on February 15, 2023, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He was born September 29, 1974, in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Craig Battinelli and Linda Woll Battinelli.
Craig was a 1992 graduate of Gaither High School in Tampa, Florida, earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration-Finance from Strayer University, studied Political Sciences at University of South Florida, and was only two classes away from a Master’s Degree in Business Administration/ Project Management at Strayer University. Craig worked for Verizon for 24 years and was Senior Manager-Financial Operations Support. Craig married Kimberly Phillips in Clearwater Beach, Florida on April 20, 2008. His job with Verizon required a transfer and the couple relocated from Florida to Tennessee.
Though he was an avid athlete and involved in many sports throughout his life, his most recent passion was mountain biking. Additionally, he enjoyed kayaking and hiking with his wife, coaching basketball with his son Brody, and swimming with his son Caden.
Craig was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer on his birthday in 2020. He started journaling and shared his “Give it Your All” mentality and “It’s not over until I win” posts as a form of positive encouragement not only for him but for his family and friends. His resilience was transparent through his 47 chemo treatments and clinical trial. Being the fighter, we all know he is, he has found peace and won his place in heaven.
Craig is survived by his loving wife and parents, his sons Brody and Caden Battinelli, brother Kevin Battinelli, sister Alecia (Anthony) Bimonte and nephew Gage Clark, aunt Karen Schaefer-Woll, maternal grandmother Rose Marie Woll, sister-in-law Carrie(Glen) Castle, nieces and nephew Kylie, Brooke and Cole Castle, mother-in-law Susan Haroz Phillips, extended family, and a multitude of friends.
Craig was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Oscar Woll, paternal grandparents Alfred and Helen Battinelli, uncle Neil Battinelli, aunt Rose Pander, and father-in-law David Phillips.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm, Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Allenbrooke Farms in Spring Hill, TN . In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Gofundme Account “EDUCATION & SUPPORT FUND FOR BRODY & CADEN” https://gofund.me/dc12ccc3 or to the charity Autism Speaks
